Medica'S Dr. David Webster Pens Star Tribune Oped On National Mental Health Hotline

On July 16, 2022 the federal government rolled out a new and simple 3 digit suicide prevention and substance abuse hotline number—988.  Similar to how people dial 911 in an emergency—988 will connect people via call, text and chat with trained counselors from the existing National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.  In his Op-Ed,  Medica’s Dr. David Webster, Chief Clinical and Provider Strategy Officer at Medica describes how this is desperately needed during what many experts are calling a mental health crisis in this country.
